Decoctions of meadowsweet flowers were found to have antiulcerogenic effects in rats under some conditions, but not others. In vitro studies of extracts of meadowsweet were found to demonstrate antimicrobial activity against several strains of bacteria. (Mills & Bone, 2000, p. 480-481)
